How it works
Three simple steps to a plan your family can actually use.
No forms first, no jargon and no surprises. Here is exactly what working with us looks like, from your first call to the years after your plan is signed.
Step one
Have a conversation
It starts with a free 15-minute phone call to get your first questions answered and see whether we are a good fit. When you are ready, you schedule your Estate Planning Session.
- Before the session, you complete a simple inventory and questionnaire. It helps you get more organized than you have ever been, and helps your family know what you have and where it is.
- We set aside time to focus entirely on you. We gently look at what would happen to your loved ones and your assets if something happened today.
- Then we talk about what you want to happen instead, and what matters most to you.
Step two
Design your plan
If you decide to move forward, we start designing your plan together, right away. You leave knowing what your plan will look like and how it will work.
- You choose the level of planning that fits your family.
- At your Signing Meeting, we walk through your documents in a way that is easy to understand, so you know it says exactly what you want.
Step three
Rest easy, and keep it current
Where other lawyers might hand you a binder and send you on your way, we schedule one more meeting: your Binder Meeting and Legacy Interview.
- We confirm that your accounts and property are owned the right way for your plan, so it actually works.
- We record your Legacy Interview, a chance to capture your values, insights, stories and experiences. You receive a digital copy, so your loved ones can always hear your voice and your words of wisdom.
- We keep your plan up to date as your life changes, so it works when your family needs it.

The plan you make today decides which story your family lives.
Without a plan
- A court decides who raises your children
- Your estate may go through a long, public and costly court process
- Your family has to guess what you wanted, and may argue about it
- Your stories and values are lost with you
With a plan
- The people you chose care for your kids
- Your family avoids unnecessary court and conflict
- Everyone knows exactly what you wanted
- Your family inherits your stories, not just your stuff
FAQ
Questions about the process
What do I need to bring to my first meeting?
After you schedule, we send you an inventory and questionnaire to complete beforehand. It helps you get organized and lets us prepare, so we can focus entirely on you and your family during the meeting.
Can I make changes after I sign?
Yes. As your life changes, we help you keep your plan up to date.
I already have an estate plan. Can you review it?
Yes. We offer an Estate Plan Checkup and Review to help you see whether your existing plan still works for your family, or whether there are gaps to fill.
